rules:
1. Be respectful. We're here to discuss and debate and share thoughts, and I understand that can get a bit heated sometimes, but that does not give you free reign to be rude or attack another member of this community for differing options or views, period.
2. There is to be no bashing of characters, pairings, other members of the community, or the actors on the show. To clarify: meta pointing out the factual flaws of a character and arguing against them is not considered bashing, but making up wild accusations or simply insulting them is considered bashing.
3. This is a community specifically for meta and discussion, which means no fanfic based on The Vampire Diaries television show or books. There are places for that, this is not one of them.
4. Please keep all posts focused on meta and discussion of The Vampire Diaries. As much as I love the actors, this is not the place to discuss their other projects or interviews.
5. Posts about pairings are welcome and encouraged! But they must focus on thoughtful discussion and bring something more to the table than I really like them together. Un-canon pairing discussion (be they het, slash, femmeslash, or poly) is also welcome! We love sub-text-y meta here.
6. Fanfic writing how-to posts are also welcome, but preferred to be geared towards writing in The Vampire Diaries fandom. Research question posts for fanfic to generate discussion are also allowed.
7. ANY spoilers for upcoming or recent episodes The Vampire Diaries must be warned for and placed underneath a cut.
8. Please tag all entries as appropriately as possible. If a new tag needs to be created, one of the mods will get to it ASAP.
9. If you have a question that isn't addressed here, please direct them
HERE, or feel free to contact one of the mods via PM.
submission:
1. There will be absolutely no linking to locked posts, or posts that will be locked in the immediate future (in two days, after the next update). If a post is submitted with a locked link, you will get a reminder. If it does not become a public post, it will be deleted.
2. Please utilize an
LJ cut for the body of text heavy or picture heavy posts, anything that could take up a large space to save the followers' flists.
3. All meta posts require a header with at least the title, warnings, and a description/notes. A sample header can be found below. Heavy topics (such as rape, abuse, etc.) are allowed as long as there are sufficient warnings. A sample submission header is below:
Title: Warnings: Description/Notes:4. Plagiarism is completely unacceptable. If there's something amazing we need to see, feel free to rec it.
5. Pimping other communities, or livejournal events is allowed as long as the focus is on The Vampire Diaries in some way.
