I wanted to wait on submitting this until there wasn't such a large number of applications needing at least five votes.
The Basics
Name: Monica…I’m leery about using my real name anywhere
Nickname: Momo(…--chan, although after a while it irritated me and I asked people to stop adding --chan)
Age: 17
Gender: Female (…are we ever going to get any guys here? XD)
Personality
Likes: Animals, reading, drawing, writing, fun times, good times in general, learning interesting things, personal growth, music
Dislikes: Accidentally prattling on and on and on, people who mislabel things/people, people who think they're oh-so smart when their points can be easily disproved, lack of intelligence anywhere, unnecessary (and, frankly, scary) hatred, blatant hypocrisy, abuse of any kind (animal, child, spousal, and elderly especially), having more dislikes than likes
Hobbies: Drawing, researching various things that don't have much of a connection to each other, video games, comic books, cartoons
Talents: My writing's above average, at least. I've been told I play a mean flute and viola, pretty big imagination, fairly good at designing things, knack for foreign languages
Ambitions/Goals: I will have my career of choice (librarian), I will go beyond what people expect of me, and I will overcome my own shyness
Strong points: Loyal, brutally honest, that famous 'not like the others', can make people laugh nine times out of ten, adequate intelligence, I know when to keep my mouth shut, highly ambitious
Weak points: Um, I have a lot of problems, but to keep it short I'll just put naive (although, truthfully, it's usually about subjects I never cared to look into), bitter, angry, self-deprecating, obsessive
Your personality in 3 words: Candid, loyal, odd
Mature/immature: People would say that I'm mostly mature, but I have times where I cut loose and act my own age (or younger, depends on my relationship with the person)
Outgoing/shy: Extremely shy, you couldn't pay me to willingly walk into a social situation full of strangers
Graceful/clumsy: Hmm...sort of a strange mix, I can balance and hop along like no one's business, but then my clumsiness shows through when I'm standing still and then go to move. I'm generally a rather off-balanced person...I think I inherited it from my mother -_-
Optimistic/pessimistic: Bitter, bitter pessimist
Leader/follower: I'm more one to wander off the path chasing after an interesting flower after getting bored by the leader going on, but when I'm in the mood I do crave direction, so I would ultimately say follower
Favorite
Color: Blue, it goes with so many things and there are so many interesting shades, it's second only to purple
Animal: Badgers, they're fierce, burrowing creatures that could rip your arm off, but dang do I love them (being a Harry Potter fan makes me love them more, seeing as they are the symbol of my house)
Food: Anything seafood I like (oh yes, I get odd looks), specifically a nice linguine and clams or calamari...or sushi
Scents/smells: I'm a fan of incense, although I have a very odd threshold of pain that makes me get headaches or become overwhelmed easily. Hm, specifically, I like the smell of things cooking, particularly things that are baking, like my mom's chocolate-chip cookies. No one makes them like her :P
Fairy tale: Ha, if Wizard of Oz could be counted as a fairy tale rather than a just plain fantasy I would choose that seeing as I grew up with that movie and I checked out the book very many times in junior high (it was a lovely book, too, all colorful illustrations and such). But my favorite fairy tales came from this book on cat tales I checked out a while back in grade school, I liked this one about a princess cat...I don't think I quite remember it, but it involved a boy and his brothers and him caring for the cat very deeply and being rewarded in the end. You know how that goes. Cat-oriented fairy tales in general hold a sort of mysticism for me
Princess Tutu character, explain: I love them all, although I will say the first one that jumped out at me was Mr. Cat, then Drosselmeyer, then Rue, then Autor. Rue ultimately remains my absolute favorite, I tend to look at characters like her in their sweetest moments and coo 'awww...she's so cute!' and hope for the best for them
Least Favorite
Color: I don't really like pastels, they always struck me as really sickeningly sweet...and I can't stand too much sweetness
Animal: I--cannot--stand--spiders (...and then I realized the irony of this, seeing as I love animals, can't stand animal abuse and hate hypocrisy *snicker*)
Food: Nuts...and something else I probably can't think of, well, I don't particularly like sour foods, or spicy, or things with a confusing 'texture' (like, say, sweet and sour pork)
Scents/smells: *ahem* cigarette smoke,...any matter produced by mammals, rotten fish
Fairy tale: Cinderella, the Disney version and the real version. It always kind of bored me. I dunno, perhaps it was the 'girl under the thumb of evil step-guardians gets an easy ticket out through magic' thing that got to me. As wrong that probably is.
Princess Tutu character, explain: I don't dislike any of them
Questions
Have you ever taken ballet lessons? How did you find the experience? Uuh, no. I've never been all that active. I had ambitions of doing any kind of dance when I was little and inspired by images I saw, but then I became content with just making music.
If you find out that the only way to save the one you love is to disappear into a flash of light, what would you do? I imagine the scenario would go like this--I'd panic a little, scramble around trying to see if there's another solution ('there's always another way, right? Right?') but then, seeing as there probably wouldn't be, I'd accept it seeing as I'd always be willing to die for a cause if it did more for the cause than if I was alive. Oh, sure, a Tutu-like hero might try to convince me not to ('then your loved one will suffer!'), but I would defeat hir logic with my pessimism and accept my fate for the one I love. This, of course, would be a family member seeing as I feel I'm too embittered by previous encounters/observations to fall in love.
If your life were a fairy tale, which would it be (and why?) My life's too boring to be a fairy tale, I'd imagine it'd be the epic journey of a small girl trying to come out of her shell with determination and many, many psych-ups
Picture (optional -- feel free to just describe yourself if you don't have/don't want to post pictures): I'm short, apparently rather youthful in appearance, usually dressed in plain, shapeless clothes that are either blue or black...or even purple (heh-heh, like a bruise), in general plain-looking. Brown hair, hazel eyes, refuses to wear make-up. I'd rather eat worms.
