[He had been imprisoned many time before. He had been trapped in the form of a human and took the necessary steps to free his heart of the boundaries and limitations of a slowly--or was it rapidly?--decaying body. He had then started as human-shaped Heartless and then decayed from there into a shadow of his former glory--so weak he could barely ( Read more... )

Mate, haven't you ever heard that it's not the destination, but the ride that matters most?

The "ride" does little but give one momentary satisfaction and gratification.

[Her voice is calm; she's had time to become sure of herself in this much, at least.]

You're wrong. The Darkness can be overcome.

When we die, our heart returns to darkness regardless. Struggle as much as you please; in the end, it means nothing.

[He still sounds tired. Are people really going to argue with him on this?]

[She can't let statements this ignorant go. She argues.]

When we died, it was Light. And it will be again, next time.

[And he thinks you're the ignorant one.]

Yes, many describe a light at the end of the tunnel. But it is oblivion and darkness that awaits us all. The heart returns to the darkest depths, from whence it came.

[These are curious statements. It takes him a moment to put together his response. Perhaps there is some truth to his words, but why dwell on it?]

If all worlds return to darkness, what exactly does that mean to you?

I am one of those who have already returned my heart to darkness. It is my goal to return all worlds to darkness, to enlighten all those who remain ignorant of this truth and all who deny.

[...In other words, he hates that people have differing opinions.]

[The fact that he's so forthcoming with his goals startles the sage a little.]

Return all worlds to darkness...? Why? How will darkness "enlighten" us?

There are many who seek to eliminate the darkness. It is as necessary, and perhaps far more important than the light.

[Ansem has always been open about his goals.]

[Until he hears Billy Zane that voice.

A voice he'd hoped he'd never hear again.]

[The voice of a man who caused him and the worlds endless trouble.

The voice of the very man who manipulated him and took control of his body...]

[He's completely speechless at first. What can he even say about something like this?

He'd beaten Ansem, and now he's here of all places?]

How could you say something like that? Sure, darkness is a part of everything, but that doesn't mean it's where everything ends.

[So much wariness on the part of this derp. So, so much.]

I say it from experience. I have watched as a thousand worlds ended, devoured by the darkness. Such is how all worlds die.

[Be wary all you want, Ventus. It won't change Ansem's opinions ever.]

But just because those worlds disappeared doesn't mean they all will! Darkness isn't everything, and there'll always be a light to shine through the darkness.

[Yes, typical sappy protagonist stuff.]

And people who'll fight to protect their homes.
