"Come home and rub my back right now," I said into the phone, and I heard Alex laughing on the other end.

"I have, like, twenty minutes before my next class, babe," he answered.

"Drive fast and we'll make it a quickie," I said, and he laughed.

"I'll come home for lunch, okay?" Alex asked.

"I'll greet you naked at the door," I told him.

"Sounds great," he said, chuckling. "I'll see you in a couple hours, babe. I love you."

"I love you, too, Lex," I responded. "Bye."

"Bye," he said, before hanging up.

"Alex is gonna come home during his lunch break," I told Zack, setting my phone down.

"That's cool," he said, wiggling his finger as Josie locked it in her grasp. "Shit. She's strong."

I smiled, nodding. "She's got a good grip. Wait until she wants to play with your nose ring."

He made a face, touching his hand to his nose and making me laugh. I looked up at the clock, seeing it was about time for Josie's bottle and afternoon nap.

"Hold her while I get her bottle ready, okay?" I asked Zack, and he nodded.

I went into the kitchen, making a bottle up for her. I was glad Zack had come over. It gave me something to do while Alex was at school all day.

I walked back into the living room, taking Josie from Zack. I wrapped her tightly in her blanket before giving her the bottle.

"So you want me to just fix your streaks?" Zack asked, and I looked up at him, nodding. "Okay. I'll try my best."

"You really can't screw it up, bro," I told him. "All you have to do is take random chunks and bleach them. Alex has been doing it for me for months," I told him, watching Josie's eyes slip shut slowly. He nodded, looking down at the baby. "She'll be out in like ten minutes. This is the only routine we have that she seems to understand."

He laughed and I rocked my body back and forth gently.

Not long after, Josie was all fed and sleeping in her bassinet. I set the baby monitor down on the bathroom counter as Zack opened up the hair dye kit. I sat down on the lid o the toilet seat, listening to the baby's soft breathing.

"Baby's breathing sounds weird," I told him. "Half the time it sounds like she stopped breathing. It's scary."

"That sounds scary," Zack agreed.

"Everything about her is scary, honestly," I told him, stripping off my shirt.

"Only because you love her so much," he said, and I smiled.

"True," I answered.

***

"Bro, you look ridiculous," Zack told me, laughing.

I looked in the mirror, looking at all the oil randomly placed in my hair.

"I don't care," I answered. "I'm gonna look god when it's all done."

"Right," he said, drawing out the syllable.

"I'm hungry," I said, leaving the bathroom. Zack followed me out to the kitchen, watching as I rummaged through the cupboard.

I heard the front door open and then close. I glanced out to the living room, seeing Alex shrugging his jacket off.

"Hi, baby," I called out, smelling food.

I heard him say something, but it wasn't loud enough for me to hear.

He walked into the kitchen with a bag o Chik-Fil-A, setting it on the table.

"Hey, cutie," he said, raising an eyebrow at my hair. He gave me a kiss. "We have a visitor."

I looked behind him, seeing a boy with long orange hair standing there. My eyes widened, grabbing Alex's hands.

"Thanks for the warning," I mumbled, and he chuckled. "I'm serious. I look like a fucking hot mess."

"You look fine, babe," he answered, kissing my nose.

"Lex," I whined.

"It doesn't matter," he said, squeezing my hands before letting them go. "Jack, this is Travis." He motioned to the redhead, and I smiled gently. "Travis, this is my boyfriend, Jack."

Travis gave me a bright smile, kind eyes meeting mine as he stuck out his hand.

"It's nice to meet you," he told me.

"You too. I'm sorry I'm such a mess. Alex didn't tell me he was bringing anyone home with him," I told Travis and he shrugged.

"I didn't want him to have to sit at school all alone or an hour," Alex explained, taking his food out of the bag. "Hey, Zack."

"Hey, bro," Zack answered.

"Well, that was nice of you, at least," I told him, sitting down next to him. "And thank you for buying us all lunch."

I pecked his lips, making him smile.

"You're welcome," he answered. "Where's Josie?"

"She's sleeping," I told him, stealing a sip of his pop.

"Why is she always sleeping when I come home?" he asked, pouting.

"Because all she does is sleep?" I asked, and he laughed. "And eat."

I looked over at Travis, who was eating his own sandwich. My eyes scanned him over nonchalantly.

He was cute, nothing particularly special, which made me feel a little better. He was tall and lanky, with his aforementioned long orange hair laying messily on his head, falling down to his shoulders. I looked over at Alex, who was busily talking to Zack.

"So," I started, and Travis looked up at me. "You and Alex have class together, right?"

"Yeah," he answered. "We have a couple classes together, actually."

"That's cool," I said, giving him a smile. He returned it, teeth playing with his lip ring.

"So what made you decide to redye your hair, babe?" Alex asked, reaching his hand over to play with a piece of the foil.

"It was fading," I told him. "And I wanted it to look good for our pictures."

"Oh yeah," he said, and I raised an eyebrow.

"You better not forget about our pictures," I told him. He smiled, holding my hand and kissing my knuckles.

"I got it," he said. "Saturday morning, pictures. No problem."

"Alex," I said, and he smirked at me.

"I got it, baby. Don't worry."

"I will hurt you."

Alex giggled, leaning forward and kissing my lips.

"We gotta rinse that stuff out, bro," Zack said, wiping his greasy fingers on a napkin.

"Alright," I answered, standing up. I turned to Alex. "Go check on Josie."

"I will after I finish my sandwich," he answered, slapping my butt. I rolled my eyes, following Zack.

"So who is that Travis kid?" Zack asked, watching me take the foil out of my hair.

"He goes to school with Alex," I told him, and he raised an eyebrow. "He seems harmless enough. I'm not really worried about it."

"As long as you trust your boyfriend," he said, and I nodded.

"I do trust him," I answered, turning the shower head on. The water sprayed out, and he began rinsing my hair.

After we were all done, I wrapped a towel around my head and walked out to the living room. I saw Travis sitting by himself on the couch, scrolling through his cell phone.

"Hey," I said, and he quickly looked up. "Where's Alex?"

"The baby woke up," he answered, slipping his phone back in his pocket. I nodded, sitting down on the couch.

"Guess what!" Alex exclaimed, coming into the room with Josie in his arms. I raised an eyebrow, and he grinned.

"What?" I questioned.

"Guess what Josie just did!" he insisted, and I shook my head.

"I really don't know," I told him.

"She held her head up!" he said, and my eyes widened.

"She did?!"

"Yeah!" he said, grinning. "I mean, it was only for like two seconds, but she still lifted it up by herself!"

I smiled, leaning over and kissing her face.

"Yay, Josie!" I praised, and her eyes snapped over to my face. "You held your head up, baby! What a big girl!"

Alex grinned, kissing my cheek before nuzzling his nose against Josie's.

I looked up at Zack, who was smiling at us. I grinned, stroking Josie's soft hand.

Alex looked over at Travis., smile still plastered on his face. He adjusted Josie in his arms, showing her to him.

"This is our daughter, Josie," Alex said, and Travis smiled.

"She's beautiful," he told us, and I grinned.

"Thanks," I said.

"You wanna hold her?" Alex asked, and he bit his lip.

"Um, sure," he said, and Alex put her gently in his arms. Josie's eyes grew wider, and she stared up at him intently. "H-hi."

I chuckled, laying my head on Alex's shoulder and watching our baby.

"I think she likes you," Alex told him, and Josie's eyes flickered over to him. She stared up at Alex for a few seconds before she made a face, nose scrunching up as she fussed.

"What a daddy's girl!" I said, shaking my head as she stopped crying when Alex picked her back up and cuddled her to his chest. "You're so spoiled!"

Alex laughed, kissing her.

"You're just jealous," he told me, and I snorted.

"You're stupid," I told him, and he kissed me.

"I have to go back to school," he told me.

"Good luck telling your princess that," I snorted again. "She's cozy in Daddy's arms."

Josie looked up at him, and he frowned.

"I don't want to leave her, but I have to."

"I'm the one that's gonna have to deal with her screaming," I said, and he frowned.

"Will she really?" he asked, pouting. "I'm gonna feel so bad."

"She'll be fine," I told him, laughing.

He sighed, glancing at the clock.

"Fine" he sighed. He looked over at Travis. "You ready to get back?"

"Hell no," he said, and Alex laughed.

Alex kissed Josie's face, holding her close for a few seconds before handing her to me. She grunted unhappily and I kissed her face, allowing her to grip onto my finger.

"I'll see you later, babe," Alex told me, leaning down to kiss me.

"Later, hot stuff. I love you."

"I love you too," he said. "Bye-bye, Josie. I love you, sweetface."Sorry about that guys.
