No, she's not. And even if she did, she wouldn't be the lead; she's in her 30s now and has passed the ingenue stage for such as that for this kind of movie. ;-)
Why do you say the female lead will determine the marketing strategy? Just curious; I hadn't heard that before, with this kind of movie. But I suspect you have a good explanation or you wouldn't have said as much, and I'd like to know ...
The first POTC movie wasn't about romance. Oh, yeah, there was the Will Turner/Elizabeth Swann side story, but the real question and ultimate resolution of the movie was could a pirate be a good man? Which was answered quite nicely. You know how I loathed the second and third movie, and part of my distaste was that there wasn't an overarching question that needed to be answered. Certainly the second movie was looking for an audience that wanted a romance. And since the question of romance had been answered in the first movie, they decided to throw in that fake romance between Jack and Elizabeth as a sort of ruse (which had never worked for me ever, and, indeed, all my protests that this was nothing but a paltry attempt to get some sexy times between Johnny and Keira--since they'd mined sexy times between Orlando and Keira--they didn't have much choice as they had killed of Norrington). The third movie is a blur. I think I fell asleep during the middle, but again, there wasn't a central question that needed to be answered
