That crazy cosplayer is at it again.....

I love Halloween. That's all I can really say.

I've had two reasons this past weekend to dress up as Will Turner.

The first one was a Zombie Crawl through downtown Colorado Springs. Inspired by and dedicated to immortal_jedi, who successfully tortures and kills Will in her fabulous fanfictions, I dedicate this first costume to her.

Why?
Because I was Zombie!Will.

I'm being lazy and just copying and pasting from my LJ here.

I decided to revisit an old discussion, specifically whether or not Will Turner was alive/dead/undead at the end of PotC3.

I've decided he's a zombie. And I decided to take that literally.

Besides, might as well get as much use as possible out of my Will Turner costume, as I'm retiring it after WillCon this weekend.

So, first things first, meet up with Sarah and Dan, zombie fanatics, for makeup assitance. They went out to dinner, so they did all makeup ahead of time except the blood. I joined them for the blooding up after they ate.

Me and Sarah, who glued a can lid to her face.

Why so serious?

I'm too excited about going all bloody.

Bloodied up...

Sarah is constantly pushing herself to have more and more gore with her zombie costuems. The amount of stage blood she goes through in October is insane.

We decided to give Will a head wound, especially since he seems to get hit in the head constantly in the PotC movies.

Of course, it was only after I did this that I thought about how hard it would be to wash the blood out... ooops.

Some zombies carried body parts. I followed the pattern...

Nom nom nom....
(I really need to glue new barnacles on that thing....)

The original plan was to turn the scar on the chest into a zombie wound. However, that was going to prove difficult to see with the baldric, so we went for a zombie bite on the neck and excessive blood on the chest. It got everywhere.

However, this was a successful night in that I finally tested a theory in how better to strap down my 34D chest, and do so in a way that the shirt can be open as low as it needs to be to be screen accurate. Hard to do with a bra across the chest. The solution? Tan-colored duct tape. Surprisingly comfortable, and extremely effective at flattening boobs. Wasn't that painful to take off either.

It was a fun night to be a zombie....

We want brains.........

Getting home, and into real light, I finally saw just how bloody I was. I had it all over my hands too! Argh! My steering wheel!

Too cool.

I then stayed up until 4 am washing my Will costume to wear it Saturday morning and makeing my Jesus costume for Saturday night. I'm getting too old to do this. *sigh*

Then, the next morning, I wore Will again to the Manitou Springs Annual Casket Races.

So, this is what I look like when I'm almost done with my hair. I have to do my whole head in ringlets to get the cute curls that Captain Turner is sporting. I don't know how his hair got super curly once he died, but that's what happened.

Super cute, right? I hate that I have to muss them up for the look I need.

Until I add the beard.... then it's so wrong...

This was the first time I've done Will's beard with crepe hair. Usually I prefer to go the eyeliner pencil route because it's so easy and comfy. But I had to try it.

Once the curls are mussed and the costume is on, it all looks much better.

With Shane.

Not the most accurate costume out there, but he's put the entire thing together by himself and learned to sew to do so, which I have to respect so much more than the guys that buy their screen-accurate replicas on Ebay.

Me and Cyndi... again, not as Jack Sparrows...

Other than Jack, I've never seen her repeat a costume. She has just as much costuming as me! Maybe more! She's never attempted Will tho. But she's thinking of it.

So, I was Will Saturday morning and that evening, I was Jesus for a Halloween party. This was planned out well, as I figure the hair and makeup would be the same for both. So, when I changed after the Races, I didn't undo my hair yet. I was too busy finishing my Jesus costume. My friend was hanging out when I finished making my cardboard halo, and she got a picture because it looked super silly.

Some have likened Will to Jesus... here's the illustration of the fanfic of your nightmares...

I don't know what's silliest... the halo, or the Nerds Candy PJ pants and white trash tank top.

Remember... comments are love!
(Not that I need much encouragement, but it helps...)

I'm so excited for Chicago this weekend. Pretty much all my friends know about it, and are cranky at me I'm missing the Renn Faire Halloween party... but oh well. Seriously. There's Halloween... and then there's Will Turner geeking with the girls. Not a hard choice! ONLY THREE MORE DAYS!
