sometime today, the Large Hadron Collider will be turned on. here's to new dimensions! :}

also, i propose that we all start playing Another World at approximately midday.
(hint: press up at the start to not get eaten by tentacle monsters.)

What is this Another World you speak of?

Another World is a beautiful fantasy adventure/platform game way too advanced for its time (1991). Coded and designed by just one man, the dude practically programmed his own rotoscoping program for the animation sequences.

I mentioned the game because it featured something similar to the Large Hadron Collider at the start of the game. The protagonist turns it on and gets transported to, well, Another World. :}
