Pajama Party and Sleepover [dated to Dec 3]

It had been a week since Teddy disappeared, and while Alexis knew it was perfectly understandable for Billy to be sad, even heartbroken - she didn't even want to think about what she'd do if Cooper vanished - she was determined to drag him out of his room for at least a little longer than it took for him to grab something to eat or brush his teeth ( Read more... )

Billy rubbed a hand over his face as he processed Alexis's appearance. He knew she was doing her best to cheer him up, a job that may have been Kate's, if she were still here. He'd lived months without Teddy, but that didn't make dealing with his disappearance any easier.

"The Sound of Music always cheers me up," he said as he looked through the snacks she'd brought along. That he readily accepted her presence and was willing to do something that wasn't moping and missing Teddy was a step.

"Oooh, I love that one," she said approvingly, and gave his upper arms a squeeze before going over to see if the bookshelf would cough it up. It didn't take much searching and sure enough, there it was. Alexis silently vowed to take whatever book the shelf wanted to give her tomorrow as thanks, no matter what it was.

"Here it is!" She took the reel out, and a couple minutes later she had it going and was settling in on the couch, arranging the food within easy reach. She patted the cushion next to her as she pulled on a blanket, arranging it so it could cover them both.

With a sigh, Billy sank down onto the couch next to Alexis, legs curled up as he pulled the blanket over them. He was trying hard not to be too much of a mood killer when she was doing her best to cheer him up, but it wasn't exactly easy.

All he could think about was how Teddy wasn't sitting right there with him.

"I've loved this since I was little," he said, bringing his legs up to rest his chin on his knees.

The movie started, that iconic scene with Maria on the grassy hill singing about the hills being alive with the sound of music, but Alexis was paying more attention to Billy than to the movie. She didn't know whether he'd want to talk, or even if he'd be comfortable talking to her, but she was going to keep an eye out for an opening.

"Me too," she said with a nod. "My dad introduced me to this movie pretty early, and I've watched it so many times. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it."
