silmaril's and my dear
Aes Sedai missysedai likes cows. A lot. She likes to collect much cow-stuff, and as she describes her family's residence, it *is* the
House of Moo...
So, early on last Friday night at
missysedai's place for the grand Cedar Point revels --before the
unveiling of our happy surprise--
silmaril took me aside into the boys' bedroom, a mischievious smile on her face. Once there, she explained --someone Silmaril knew out in Maryland had been moving, and in the process of doing so was giving away much stuff...among which was a very silly, full-sized cow costume, which she thought would be really funny for Missy if someone wore. She was too short, I might be just tall enough, would I mind being silly?
And so I put on the costume and strapped on the little hat and Silmaril skipped ahead down the hallway and pulled Missy out of the kitchen and said we had something we wanted to show her, and then Silmaril waved me into the living room, resplendent in my cow-ness.
By the look on her face and the way her eyes went wide and her eyebrows arched in shock/surprise/giggles, I think we just about broke poor Missy. And many other folks as well. (Especially poor
annewashere. (I'm *not* looking over there! I'm *not* looking over there!)
Missy is holding
_constantine's gift to her --a black-and-white Holstein-cow patterned Cthulhu --a Cowthulhu, the love child of a Great Elder and Borden Dairy Product's Elsie, so to speak. Also very silly. Hee! :-)
One of the many wonderful things about life are fun people like
silmaril, like my MD/PhD/Medical activist friend and fellow LJer
resonance42 of the
silly LJ icons, like fellow MD/PhD/Medical Activist and roleplayer 'Deuce' O'Connor; women and men who have achieved tremendously by any standard the world might set but don't take themselves too seriously; who can excel and yet still enjoy the silly things. And lucky I am to be able to have such people as friends. :-)
