In the very first episode they're carrying a cardboard standee of Horo/Holo from Spice & Wolf. Also, Isaac and Miria make cameo appearances =D they're my two favorite characters out of any anime ever.
Shinra is pretty awesome. As is...uh..blond bartender guy. I'm terrible with names. The russian sushi guy is also pretty badass. I hope they do another season of Durarara. It felt really..incomplete by the end. Just saying.
That reminds me...I joined up a Dollars website ages ago and forgot all about it...huh..
Isaac and Miria are from the land of awesome. They are made out of pure awesome. They're also main characters in Baccano, the series the creators of Durarara made before Durarara. I found Baccano to be good, but confusing as you have a little time to get to know a CRAP TON of characters and the perspective keeps on changing.
I know Shizuo as the GARtender. Not sure if you're familiar with the term "Gar" or not...but he is totally gar. I mean, he punched a dude right out of his clothes (I think I have an animated gif of that saved somewhere...XD)
The ending is....well they wrap up that current story arc but there's a bajillion underlying story arcs that they don't really close. It feels like they HAVE to make a second season sometime...so I'm holding my breath for that.
I'm not holding my breath but I wish they would make one, and dub it, because I no longer have the patience for subs.
I know what GAR is, but not the letters, just the general definition. Shizuo reminds me a bit of Sanzo, they're both blonds who smoke and have big tempers and they also have some similar quotes about being pissed off.
I don't like series that don't elaborate on the characters, it just feels like everyone's a filler. I have to be interested in the characters to like the story.
I always "celebrate" my birthday on that date because I never liked the real one which is a bit earlier, it was finals time as a student. So yeah, it's basically become my birthday. :D Yay cupcake!
