Midgar has fallen silent... where has everyone gone?

What is the *point* of Valentine's day? An overcommercialised holiday, where the idea of 'love' is flaunted and flashed everywhere you look, where you cannot walk ten paces without seeing gaudy hearts and cupids all over the place...

It's enough for make you want to hibernate through the next week.

I have been having an odd dream lately... everything is in darkness. I am battling some giant creature, but the only light is the brief muzzle flashes from my guns. I don't know what it is I am fighting, or why I am fighting it, I know only that I must... and that I cannot win.

WHat does this mean? I am not sure I wish to know.

Silence. Nice at times, at others unsettling.

It is never silent in Midgar, nor is it here, but the sounds are unfamiliar. Animals, wild beasts, that sound so different from the industrial noises of Midgar. It is... unsettling.

No. Do not think of it... of him... Focus on the mission.

Arrived in Neibelheim. So far, the town meets my expectations. Small, quiet, everyone knows everyone else's business... yet there is something about this place... I don't know, but I don't like it ( Read more... )

A quick note to say I have been despatched to Neibelhiem with Cissnei. We are to pose as advisors to the Red General, who they have sent on a recruiting drive for SOLDIER.

I have returned to Midgar at last. Three years away from the city is a long time. I must admit I felt a tad sentimental upon my return. Midgar has a certain charm to it, though the exact words to describe it escape me at this time ( Read more... )
