I learned from Disney

I thought about my life and how many times I had been influenced by Disney movies as well as Disneyland.  The movies of old always had a lesson or two.  They were also written for adults.  As a kid I happened to watch them since there were no dreaded warnings stating that the violence, love, death and scary things were going to warp my young brain ( Read more... )

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Up is definitely on my list of favorite movies, and I will be buying it the moment the DVD comes out. :D

We LOVED Up! David and I both got misty-eyed several times, and I think I might have bruised his hand I was squeezing it so much. I'm consistently awed by the way Pixar manages to make genuinely moving, emotionally powerful films, while at the same time never losing sight of their humor and silliness (I got *such* a kick out of the dogs!)

Man, now I wanna see it again... :) Have you guys seen Wall-E yet? That was another great one.

Yes...we saw Wall-E. That was another one that made me feel that the idea of creativity was not lost. It is one of my favs of love stories. Not quite as poignant as the love in Lady and the Tramp, but almost. After all of these years I still get goosebumps watching the Tramp and Lady at the Italian restaurant. I love it when they accidentally kiss over the spaghetti and then she turns coyly and blushes. Gee...guess I'm always going to be a softy at heart. And this from the one that wrote "The Mongrol Hordes"!
