She said actual rural postings were pretty rare; most "small city" slots are for cities of about a million people or less. Which is... not all that rural. At all. Cool!! I'm excited for you about this :) How long are you planning on being there? I should be hitting Japan either March or August 2010, so hopefully you'll still be around then and we can visit each other :))

Yay! The contracts are for a year with the option to extend after that, so I would definitely be there in both March and August. What will you be up to in Japan?

ETA: Oh wait, would this be for JET in preparation for translation school? I totally remember you talking about that!

Teaching English, whether through JET or one of the other companies. :) For at least a year, maybe two.
