i really don't have anything to offer, other than that saving up your money and traveling is a great idea. at 22, unattached, with minimal expenses- that's the way to go. if you don't know what you really want to do in grad school, don't waste your time and money on applications. read voraciously. go out, have new experiences, gain a stronger sense of self and figure it out on your own time. i'm trying to do that around my Boring, Adult, 9 to 5 Job.

I guess that's the ideal. There's just so much pressure to be en route to something definite right now. At least, that's kind of what I feel coming from my family/high achieving friends.
And hey, they're platitudes for a reason. There's got to be something behind them. =)
