i'm glad! :) even as i held it, i really did pretend like it was a shield. places like j. crew can give out the most alarmingly hostile vibes - i think it has something to do with trophy wifedom and all the hardwood flooring.

You know, I've been making so many faux-racist jokes this week with my black co-worker that my first thought after seeing the fondue picture was:

"Black people don't eat lobster!"

If I'm not careful, I might turn into a real redneck Ohioan.

ain't no shame in your redneck ohioan roots.

every person i've ever met from ohio gets a gold star. except for one of matt's roommates who is named vaughn. his father's name is also vaughn (one of those families) but when he is around his family, he has to go by the name of bryan. i assume so that none of the bluebloods in his family has to Sink to the level of having of calling anyone 'jr'. everybody else though: great.

i will feverishly do research into the best tea/desserts that the district has to offer. i am slowly but surely becoming aquainted with the dining establishments (i have long been aquainted with the dive bars)

Re: books! tulip_mania April 12 2007, 20:22:43 UTC
ahhh! i've read it! i read it when it first came out, like, THE WEEK it did, and i finished it in 1.5 days and i love it so. i've read it over again as well. i'm so glad you like it! sarah vowell is a fantastic woman, i hate her voice though. sometimes her writing style sort of makes me cringe but the STUFF that she writes about is just unmatched.
