Vid - The Mystic

I made a thing! Vid, Sam, Dean, S6-8, "The Mystic" by Adam Jensen.

This was inspired by the wonderful kalliel in her post where she shared this song and about what great parallels there are to Sam and Dean in s6-s8. Naturally, even though I've never made a fan vid before, I HAD TO MAKE ONE. XD ( Read more... )

Aaaaaahhhh this is so wonderful!!! I love it to pieces. I adore the subtle effects you used, and the scenes you chose to weave together, from soulless!Sam in S6 all the way through Dean in Purgatory. WHAT A DELIGHT!! (Also, this really makes me want to rewatch S8, as I've not seen it in years!)

Ahhhhh thank you so much, both for your kind words and for the rec!! I'm so glad you linked this song; I WAS FULLY INSPIRED. It was a fun challenge to figure out how to fit things together in a way that worked in terms of content and visually/pacing-wise, so I'm happy the scene choice worked for you. (Also, I felt the same about s8 while making this, and watched the first couple eps. So fun to revisit!) I'm so glad you enjoyed; thanks again! <333

Congrats on your first fanvid! :D I now effectively have this song stuck in my head again. XD

Ooh, my favourite thing about this is the way the visuals interact with the music. For me, sensitivity to the music is, like, the most Essential thing in a lot of video editing projects. It can make a huge difference whether it's done well or not. And this was really satisfying the way it lined up with the music: both in the timing of the clip changes and in some of the visual/dramatic beats within a single clip, which I loooove. Like that moment when it whips into Purgatory combat with the musical hits in the chorus, that is some good stuff. :DD
