I was wondering why people go friends-only. I understand the obvious part of having their journal be a little more private, but many of these journals say "comment to be added." Sure, you could still screen out a lot of people by checking out their LJ, but it seems like half of the LJ population are friends to some of these people. In those cases, what's the point? Can someone clear this up for me? I'm confused almost to the max here.

haha usually it means if you want to be my friend that bad you can comment and give me a good reason why i should friend you. Then you can go over to their journal and read their profile and see if you find them interesting or not... and in the end you make new friends :)
