in 3 days i will be off this rock and in rome. my life will actually be moving again in some direction. probably towards the more poor end of things. today one of my student's families came up to the lab and i showed them around. turns out they are going to be living about 10 min away from me in queens. they were really nice and in need of a ( Read more... )

right now i'm in kentucky being reemed because my boyfriend is taking me on a ski trip in upstate ny when we go back there (that is where we live) instead of getting me a material possession. even though i asked for a trip, in my mother's words "i wasn't raised that way". so i'm sitting here trying to understand ( ... )

WOW rodrigo! i was thinking about him the other day. glad he is well.

your xmas wishes were well received, especially the disconcern with material objects. I concur.

i hope you and yours are well also. and that things with skiing turned out okay. and that you are getting good responses from grad school stuff.

an acquaintance of mine is going to menorca next summer... any suggestions/warnings i should give him?

if he is going with boston, there is a never-graduating grad student named kevin to watch out for. if he's with cavalleria, enjoy the beautiful beaches cause that's about all he's going to get. and make friends with lana, she's a life saver. if he's there in june, go to the hazelnut fight during the horse festival.
