New Year's, 2013

Over the last 10 years, I have filled out the same nonsense New Year’s survey every year around this time-end of December, early January. Every year I posted it on this here Livejournal, which I kept faithfully for about six years and then on and off after 2009 or so. Even as I wrote less, I always took the survey, until two years ago-2011 going ( Read more... )

Hey there!

I feel kind of like a creeper posting on your personal survey, but I just wanted to say hi, and how the heck are you? I'm not here at LJ all that much either, but I can't let it go myself.

It's been great watching you grow up! I can say that, as a woman of 41. :) But seriously, it has been. I think it's fabulous that you've kept this LJ for ten years now. What a great way to learn from the past.

Anyway, keep on being you, because you're rather awesome.

Hey! No, not creepy at all, and it's so great to hear from you! I have barely touched LJ in the past year and a half, and even before then I was pretty AWOL for a while, but yes--there's something about LJ that makes it hard to let go! And a little introspection never hurt anyone.

Anyway, I am doing well! Working, applying to grad school (for creative writing), traveling quite a bit for work which is awesome. How are you?

And thank you! First and foremost for the kind words but also for tolerating my maudlin and emotional and ridiculous teenage self. An awful lot of the learning from the past has been of the "oh goodness, glad I am not that histrionic anymore" sort of thing. And, to this day, I rave about the support and awesomeness of the D/G community during those years--I really can't thank you enough for being there throughout that bit of growing up (not going to presume to say that I'm all done yet)!

I loved rereading the older entries and seeing how you've grown. It's been a pleasure getting to see this - you really have a lovely head on your shoulders, Jess. *hugs tight*

Happy 2014!

Thank you thank you :) Means so much coming from you--you really have been there since the very, very beginning, which means more than I can say! Lots of hugs to you as well, and happy 2014!
