I'm engaged!

To myself. By accident. Thought my pinkie finger was a size 5.5, it's a 4.5. Only finger the new ring will fit is the one the world considers only to be used if you are engaged or married.

Laughs - pics - please ignore the old lady wrinkly fingers

Thought you were going to say you tried on someone else's and it stuck - very painful. I have a ring (not nearly so attractive) that I can't wear because it only fits the space that is already occupied by my wedding ring. I should give it away, really.

Maybe you can get the ring re-sized? This ring cost me $12 including shipping. So not worth getting it resized, I'm going to ignore the rulz and use all my fingers.

I fell in love with it. Ebay as amazing jewelry quite cheap - this was $12 with shipping! Score

Fwiw, only some parts of the world (granted, Canada/UK among them) treat that as the engagement/wedding ring finger: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090116223937AABrVSq

(I couldn't resist looking this up since I learned some years ago that Germans used the right hand rather than the left to indicate commitment, and my Taiwanese parents never wore wedding rings.)

Thanks for that- I'm going to use all my fingers- at this point in life if someone says something, I'll just tell them it only fit on this finger and what of it! As it is, I only wear rings on day's off and when I'm going somewhere- nurses can't wear rings to work.

Traditionally, in Germany an engagement ring is worn on the left ring finger, while the wedding ring is worn on the right ring finger.

Personally, I'm neither married nor engaged but wear all kinds of rings on both of my ring fingers if they fit there best.

Oooh pretty! And I wear rings on that finger all the time despite being hopelessly single. I even wear a diamond ring (although usually I wear that on my right ring finger unless I'm actively trying to discourage men from approaching me.)

gobsmacked - tricked you out of lurkdom - hope all is well
I'm going to wear it on this finger. The width of the stones makes it too large to go on my pinky finger.
