Holy hellfire that's the same model as my mother's Bernina. Let me tell you a story...
In 1967 she bought herself a decent sewing machine. She paid (in Australia) $300 for it - that would have been enough then to buy a decent second hand car! She also paid $25 for a 25 year motor warranty.
She sewed school clothes, formal dresses, woolen shirts, couch covers, even underpants for all my dolls (made out of an old singlet of my father's). It's still at her place, working like a dream.
And that 25 year motor warranty? She never needed it. It's over 45 years old now and still goes like a dream.
My cheapie Brother machine has been acting up, so I did a little Internet shopping and fell across this. The reviews are very much as you've posted. I'm just getting started with it. Who knows, I may get your Bingo prize made!
Happy belated birthday, my friend! Sorry I missed it. I'm such a slacker. I can't believe you scored a Bernina for $25.00. That ring is a gorgeous collection Amethysts.
When the part arrives I'll let you know and you can tell my how you want it shipped.
Thanks dear, I'm sure you've been busy. The machine was $125, a bargoooon. Points up to reynardo's comment . Just send it regular post, it's not needed in a rush. I tried to ask you first, but if I didn't order it today, I would probably out it off for a few more years.
So sorry I missed your birthday! Many happy Returns, and, most of all, may your health issues be solved as soon as possible!!!!! ((((bear hug)))) Even though you certainly don't qualify as *old*, I agree that getting older is a total and utter bitch. Not without certain benefits, but most of all a bitch.
