Wow, those are so impressive!
Do you make up the patterns as you work, or use a few that you've found? I would have never thought of soaking them in was ~ it doesn't dull the beads at all?

I hope to eventually do my own designs, but these are variations from a pattern I found on Bead and Button Magazine's website. They only give directions for the simplest one, but they show graphs for the others.

I soak them in future floor wax and then let them dry on wax paper covered cookie sheets. The wax dries clear, so I haven't really had any problems. I have heard that some of the color lined beads may bleed, but I haven't had any major problems.

You know, I've never seen the actual magazine...I think I just stumbled across the patterns online, but I don't remember what got me started in the first place!

Do you do jewelry and beading stuff? How did I miss that??

oh yeah. ive been doing it for well over a decade. i have a stash and mags and all. ive posted pics before. ive done it less now cause beads+baby is harder than knitting and having her chew on the yarn.
i go in spurts and was so obsessed for so long. i want to try more, arty stuff now. ive done so much jewelry and ive been inspired by embroidery with beading on some blogs.

Hmmm...I wonder how I missed that? Maybe I saw the posts and just didn't realize it was you? I do that sometimes...too many crafty friends! ;)

I've never actually done any jewelry, but I really like beading on my smocking and these ornaments.
