i went out just now and got some $200 hiking boots. on sunday im going to hit up the trail at Herb Parsons lake off of houston levee. its around 6.5 miles and i might do it twice if i feel like i have it in me. i got some medium grade boots, so if i ever do get out to some mountains i should be sufficiently, if not amply, prepared to rock some

definitely take some mosquito repellant. and watch out for poison ivy. i went bike riding out there a couple weeks ago and some parts of the trail were pretty grown over.

never hiked it, but i imagine it would be pretty fun. its a hard ride.

i've hiked it a couple of times as a starter for philmont prep, so i kind of know it, but yeah its a great trail in general.

herb parsons might actually be the shittiest hiking trail you could find in the area. congrats.
