shouldn't candidates speak in a bipartisan manner at all times? isn't that the point?

There's some speculation that he's suffered a stroke, but it's not really clear what the hell was going through his head. Apparently somebody floated the idea of Palin filling in for him (the merest idea of which is enough to get me cackling).
