on running

manic
ground rushing
up to the foot
foot greeting earth
skeletal structure
riding gravity in waves
arms
undulating wildly
until breath evens
and wind calms
around the face
and
scenery
s l o w s
d o w n
to
one eighteenth of reality's pace

an enormous flux of visual stimuli
