That is really awesome that you got so far on that quilt. I'm really loving having that chart. It feels so good to move things further along. The fabric you chose is perfect. I want to make another one for Phebe at some point. Her Pod is so heavily quilted it's not really a comfy snuggle quilt. But it's at the back of the queue at the moment

The Big Guy had to work this weekend, so all the sewing took place! I'm heading to Joann's for binding today. I'm thinking Kelly Green Kona Cotton. I pulled every green in my stash and didn't have enough of ANYTHING. I thought green would give it that final pop it needs. This is the third bed sized quilt I've made for Elena. She's thrilled she's going to get to have another one. This one is quilted WAY less than the other two.
Hehe, I cut out a long rambly bit where I talked about using the cupcakes on bibs and dishtowels. Great minds!
The birthday that never ends totally works for me, especially since I felt like crap on the actual day.
Signature quilt...I'm not in a hurry. It isn't even on my To Do board. I'll just roll with it and see what happens!
We have our new house and I am just waiting on a school place for the kids. Will definitely be the last week ton may if not before.
I quit my job last night and only have to work a weeks notice so that's me finishing next Thursday. It's very exciting, the store has started to treat people like trash so I am not sorry to leave the company although I will miss my colleagues, I just can't deal with the stress of the place on top of the move. Although my sewing room is big and I have natural light xxx
Oh, you're so close! I hope everything goes smoothly. Congrats on your last week of work, I'm sure having that off of your shoulders will be a great relief.
Love that fabric for the backing of the graduation quilt. Cute and fun.
My machine is in the shop, but I think I'll be back to the my PPV blocks again when that comes back. I'll try to remember to do a signature block too :D
You're definitely sounding much better - glad you're on the upswing from the sickness!
Your machine being in the shop reminds me. I have a local friend trying to decide between a Juki and the Brother machine like you have. Since I know you've used both and I trust your opinion, I thought I'd ask if there are any obvious pros or cons.
I prefer the Juki hands down. If I could get another one today, I would. But I don't know that I can articulate *why* I so much prefer it to the Brother. They're very, very, very similiar machines, but you get a few extra features with the Juki. Extras on the Juki: speed control, the cutter in the foot pedal if that's still on the newer machine (which I never used but other people seem to like), a more functional up/down button (you can't use the button to move the needle up/down on the Brother.. if it's engaged, the needle will always end in the down position, but pushing it again won't raise or lower the needle like it does on the Juki

She's a quilter, too, and as far as I know, she doesn't sew anything else. Even though she's sewn for years, she's just now getting into quilting on her home machine. I might suggest she try my Juki to give her an idea. She has a Pfaff Passport and she feels kind of lukewarm about it. Some of the buttons are in weird places and it's causing some issues when she quilts. It was kind of an impulse buy when her old machine started having a mechanical problem. She's trying to put more research into her choice this time.
For me, I LOVE the Juki speed control, the up/down feature, and the foot control cut function. I'm saving up for mid-arm so I can piece on my Juki again. It's a pain to take on and off of my frame, so I've been piecing & binding on a little Janome. It's a fine machine for what it is, but it's SLOOOOW and not as substantial as sewing on the Juki.
Thanks for your feedback, I really do appreciate it and I think it will help. :)
