You get a wee bit hyper with lack of sleep, huh? I think the hot flashes were more like "power surges" for you. And the still shot made me giggle a little this morning. Thank you for that!

I like the quilt but can see why you wouldn't want the fabric sideways on it. The colors are beautiful. Taking off the borders, turning it and building up the top and/or bottom sounds like a great answer to the problem, and a good way to salvage the quilt. You are the queen of "making it work"! I wish I were half as clever as you!!!

Not so much hyper as just having all this bonus time to do things when I would normally be sleeping, lol. Of course, now I just want a nice long nap!

I am going to play around with it and decide. Probably won't have the energy to do any sewing tonight, and it's a bad idea to handle sharp objects like seam rippers and scissors when I'm sleepy... I want to finish this puppy!

Coffee Talk face is THE BEST. Hehe!

So many things done, way to channel the Power of Menopause!

I've seen a zillion Sidelights quilts at Linus, and you're right, it does make so much more sense with a panel. I like your plan to make it work. GO FOR IT.

I am so going to do it! I'm just going to take that puppy apart. I'm not squeamish about it like I used to be... and it's clearly not getting done in its current layout, lol.

Also, 8pm bedtime tonight I think. OMg. Took a giant diet dp to wake me up this afternoon.

after a REALLY tough day at work, I came home a couple nights ago and took almost the entire thing apart. It felt good. I think I needed to destroy something, lol. It's becoming a quilt I like now.

That still at the beginning is like... the crazy neighbour lady who all the local kids think is actually a witch but she's just eccentric >:D

It's pretty amazing how much you reworked this quilt. It's SO much better now. The purple you added really makes everything pop, where it all kind of fades back into one thing in this version.

lol, IKR? The fuzzy robe doesn't exactly make me look less like a crazy neighbor lady, lol.

Yeah, and it felt kind of good to just, rip it apart at the seams, too. ;) I have an actual panel I might try with the sidelights pattern... or not, I don't like it as much as I did before. We'll see.

It looks like a good one if you had a really big print you wanted to show off, but if you're not feeling it, then you're not feeling it. Maybe you'll come back to it someday (or maybe you won't, but then you can put it in a box and mail it away or donate it off and someone else can love it).

Yeah it just wasn't the right pattern for the fabric I chose, that's all. I might do it again.
