I am usually too tired on weeknights to do anything other than a little tv, a little computer, a lot of dishes, and then bed. So I guess my body is trying to catch up.
I really do love when people donate pre-cut blocks, especially when there's enough to make a whole top! But I really don't need to make more tops, I need to quilt and finish the ones I have.
Pre-cut blocks are awesome! Many years ago, my Linus invested in an AccuQuilt so we could take some of the less than beautiful fabric or really scrappy stuff and churn out pre-cut quilts. It was a great investment and we've had hundreds of quilts made from those kits over the years. Instant gratification quilting!!
The candy quilt is so cheery! I agree with Jen, we all go through times where our crafty mojo takes a break and I'm thinking that's the time we need to refuel. As the Stark's say, Winter is coming. That seems to be the - at least for me - best season for crafting.
It's not so much my crafty mojo, I'm just physically too tired to do anything on weeknights after work, so that just leaves the weekend, and apparently I'm still catching up on my sleep then, too. Oh well, It won't take up any more room to store a quilt top than just the blocks them selves, so when I get the energy I can finish the tops I have lying around.
My project room has the best-working heater vent in the house as of last year (they are gradually dying throughout the house) so I will enjoy time back there when it's cold.
I won't pretend I love the fabric for that little quilt, but it looks like a fun, child-like quilt :D Even though you feel like you're getting nothing done, you're clearly putting a lot into getting caught up on your Linus stuff in the last little while.
I wish I had the energy to work in the evenings after work and then dinner, but I'm just fried. My working hours are chock full, too many projects for 40 hours a week and they've banned overtime for the time being, so I feel like a hamster on a wheel at work. Weekends I guess I spend a lot of time just decompressing and resting.
I wouldn't want the fabric for me, for sure! But I think a 2yo will love it. And that is, after all, the whole point, lol.
The work situation sounds frustrating. Like, they've been cutting your staff back and back and back and now that probably means they've noticed everyone is doing all kinds of overtime to get things done, so now it'll be the NO OT thing for a while, and then it'll turn into the 'Why aren't things getting done?' thing... frustrating

NAIL. ON. THE. HEAD. Just in our local office alone we've gone from a staff of over 70 to about 30 over the past 10 years or so. Same amount of radio stations. Sales goals have gone up every year while the sales staff is down to 5 people not counting the two support staff (of which I am one). If I hear "PUSH PUSH PUSH" one more time or read it in another email I am going to push push push that person down the stairs.

If you're napping on the weekend, you clearly need a break. Be gentle with your mojo, it'll come back!
