The older machines are the best. I mostly use my 80 year old Bernina for piecing work, and for quilting.

Hopefully I'll have time over the next couple of weeks to really dig in and get this machine purring.

Such an awesome find! That little machine looks like it needed a good home. YAY for taking low shank feet! I also prefer screw-on feet. I am murderous on snap-on. I tend to kill the snap-on ankle that holds the foot...seriously, I went through about ten of those in six or seven years on my Baby Lock.

Go, go, go, quilt those babies!!!

1 down! (quilted anyway). I will try to work on it maybe Sunday. Also need to see if I can dfind something that will clean the case without ruining it. This week's focus, however, is quilts quilts quilts!

That Kenmore's case (and the machine too :D) is so cute!

Good luck getting those baby quilts done! Sounds like you've got the worst bit done already (basting... my least favourite thing...), so you're basically half way there.

The case is one of the reasons I've been looking for one of these models from the 3/4 machine series. The flowers are too cute!

One quilt is quilted. #2 is in progress. I might actually manage this!

What is this spray basting of which you speak??

No pins. I hate dealing with pins. Lots of good tutes out there. All you need is a can of spray baste (June Tailor works great) and painters tape or big clips/clamps to get your backing nice and tight on the table.

I'll definitely have to take a look! I usually make smaller quilts, but I'll be making one for my niece's dorm bed in a few months, so that sounds very handy!

You could also use fusible batting, and avoid pinning that way. If it's a smaller quilt, like baby or wall hanging, that's cool. I used it on Phebe's PoD and it kept coming unstuck. So I won't use it anything that big again.
