I am familiar with the license plates. A store did one that said Sewhooked and I got about two hundred emails from a variety of people that thought that the store had stolen it from me...

I've had bangs for some time now, but had really weird hair yesterday so they were way more obvious than usual.
I am wearing the scrunchy with the grateful dead tiedye bears on it, because rainbow!
OMG I hate Home Depot. But at least they made it slightly less of a PITA but letting me have it for free. I would have been happy to take what they gave me for what I had already paid.
Love the scrunchy hair ties. I may need to make some. I stopped collecting the row by row plates. I just don't really know what to do with them. Keep us up dated on how the foam works out. Sucks you had a run around with it.
I love to make my own scrunchies because I can have whatever print or color I want, and I often throw my hair up in them when its still wet. It's not as bad for your hair as a regular ponytail holder, because it's 100% cotton and absorbs the water from my hair.
I've never done the license plates myself for the very reason that I have so many other ufos going on I don't need the makings of yet another one. Maybe if I went on a coast to coast road trip it might be a fun way to make a souvenir quilt.
I've seen the license plates from other states, but I'm not sure that anyone in my area sells them. Not that I've noticed anyway. My OCD tendencies would really get caught up in that...

Boo on the craziness with the foam, but YAY for a company that works to fix it's issues. Can't wait to see the progress!
If you do the scrunchies assembly-line style you can really crank them out. Cut the fabric for all of them and the elastic for all of them, then sew up each tube like chainpiecing, then turn all of them, rightside out, then pull the elastic through all of them and sew it and pin the opening closed on each, then topstitch the opening closed on each. Toss them in the wash and let then scrunch that hair up! It's awesome having one that can go with just about every color you wear.
