Yay for organisation! And yay for a design wall! I love having one up :D

That last block for the XFiles quilt is so fantastic... you picked some pretty great fabrics to make it too, it looks amazing!

When Jen told me she was going with batiks I started stalking them on Thousands of bolts to see if I liked any. I LOVED the purples so much but I was hoping and hoping the blue and green I picked for that last block would be even close to how they looked on the screen. When they arrived they were PERFECT. To me they really look like sky and trees.

The quilt block is great :)

I have been toying with the idea of a design wall but as my craft room is in the attic space all the room line is angled and any space high enough has storage there. perhaps when we sort through stuff properly i'll find space for one

You could always do a folding, portable one. I toyed with that idea first, but really wanted a permanent one and finally just decided the only way to do it was to make some hard decisions and get rid of furniture. I liked having both the singer and the kenmore out and ready to sew on at any given moment, but it really isn't necessary, and if I truly need to have them both out I still can but on the same table. What I need now is a small ironing area to keep near me when I'm piecing to protect my back from all the ups and downs to the ironing board. I have a plan for that but have been too sick to do anything about it.

I'm thinking of putting up some hooks over the sliding door that leads to the balcony next to my craft room and hanging one there that I could roll up. it would be better to have a permanent on. I am also thinking of getting a mini ironing board from IKEA next time we're there to put on my craft table. I currently just put a towel on the table as it's too much to lug the ironing board upstairs

You could also just make a small ironing board with a bit of leftover wood, some batting and some fabric and a staplegun or nails. I have a small tabletop one but it's still too big for the space I need it in, so I think I'm just going to make a little press board like what I just described.

I like the idea of a permanent design wall that you could roll up. That's a pretty cool idea.
