In which I show off my last few embroidered blocks for I Want to Believe, the Xfiles Quilt and Stitch along, my finished Whiskers block, and I call an audible with regard to Birthday Blocks.
My scraps even sorted by color are too much for those bins, lol. I'm out and I haven't gotten to the two biggest ziploc bags, the blues and the browns.
It's really more that the pattern isn't written as well/clearly as I would like if I'm going to make other people do it. I think it is really easy enough, for me anyway, but I feel like for a total newbie it might be too overwhelming with all the unmarked thingsnand pattern errata.I like scrappy best anyway, and I've been wanting to do a snowball quilt so this will be fun. And I always like it when the particpants choose a scrappy pattern rather than specific colors that you are trying to match.
Haha, I know I noticed that, too. I didn't even see Pouncy come in and then I saw the camera moving back and forth, lol.
Whiskers is adorable, and at 15.5" inches unfinished is the perfect size for a cushion cover, so that's probably what he'll be.
I just love scrappy quilts and the 6" snowballs give you a chance to use a decent size piece of a large print or a novelty fabric too. I think it'll be a fun quilt.
Also I was just thinking about you yesterday, I hope you and the family are well. We miss you!
I love the organisation, everyone seems to have been inspired this year, i need to catch the bug as my room looks like a disaster zone. Kitty block is very cute, its a pain when things dont run according to the plan but the end results were worth it. It would make great pillow.xx
I am determined to give myself a design wall in my room this year, but that means one less piece of furniture on the wall, so I have to reduce and organize to make it happen, as I only have one wall in that room that doesn't have a permanent fixture like a window, door or wall-mounted shelving on it.
That's too bad about the Whiskers block not working out. I've had a few paper pieced patterns like that where you wonder why just a LITTLE more information wasn't included. I guess we've been spoiled by the ones that are helpful? ;D Anyway, it turned out pretty cute so at least you can use it for a tote or cushion cover or something.
Your stitched blocks look great! Looking forward to seeing that last one finished.

Bummer that the kitty pattern wasn't beginner enough. It really is cute. Oh, couch cushion, I love that idea!
I love your idea for a scrappy quilt with snowballs and nine patches. I love my churn dash/snowball quilt, it's one of my favorites to snuggle!

What a super-cute Whiskers block. Kudos to you for making it work even though it had errors and issues. It looks adorable.
I love the sound of the scrappy nine-patch and snowball quilt. I'll bet the BB ladies will love making those blocks, too.
