TTMW? Probably not

Dec 08, 2015 20:31

So my half day off from work today turned into 8 hours straight and no lunch break.Needless to say by the time i had changed out of my work clothes, caught up with my family on their day, eaten dinner, watched the Daily Show, and then watched part 1 of the season finale of Doctor Who  (which I actually loved, by the way - nowhere near as scary as ( Read more... )

Aw shame, kitty probably thinks the tree is their own toy. Naughty kitty.

She is our little furry problem child. No shoelace is safe from her teeth! And apparently no tree is safe from her chunky kittiness.

I will be posting a TTMW tonight after work :) I know all about kittys and trees. My Henry cat loved to climb all in there when he was little then he got too big and just laid under it all the time.

Gah, I am so sorry you lost your half day off! Boo, hiss!

I haven't watched any DW since last year. Clara rubs me so hard the wrong way that I end up being irritated when I watch the show. Perhaps I'll come back to it when there's a new companion.

We haven't decorated yet, should be interesting with the kittens. O_O

I have to say I am not a fan of Clara, however, with 12 there has been none of that silly "impossible girl" business. Also Peter Capaldi is a really good actor. And Clara will be gone soon. Technically she's gone now, but my understanding is her final episode is the christmas special. So next year we should get a new companion, thank goodness.

/we're still debating with ourselves on the tree. It's been a couple years since we tried, so she's a little older, but not really a whole lot calmer, lol. But Phebe has close to a month off from school, so she'll be home more and can keep an eye on things. So its still a maybe.

I saw a video on Facebook recently of cats destroying Christmas trees. :) We've always had dogs, but long ago had to get a tiny tree to put up on a table because the male ones felt a need to try to water the regular sized one.

It took awhile but Capaldi finally locked in as the Doctor for me, and he really is a good actor. But I reeeeally didn't care for the first part of the finale...too much like a Hammer horror movie to me. But yep, to each his/her own, and that's what's great about fandom. I won't spoil the second part for you.

Sounds like you're really busy! Hope you can do a TTMThursday.

I have seen that video, and thankfully her main crime was just deciding it was her spot to sprawl and hang out. But she is a chunk of a cat, and basically permanently broke/bent many of the branches. We bought a new tree after christmas that same year, but have only set it up once, XMas 2013. We managed to keep her from climbing in it, but then she and FLuffy decided the branches were tasty, so it's stayed in its box in the closet ever since.

When my son was a babe, not yet walking, we had a cat named Katrina. We had a playpen in the living room to keep the kid safe when I had to go out of the room a minute. We bought a live tree that year for his first Christmas. After decorating it, Katrina would climb up the trunk to the very top and then jump out - taking every decoration and light with her on the way down. After the third time decorating the tree I had a brilliant idea. We put the tree in the play pen which protected the tree from the cat and the baby.

Haha, good plan! She doesn't climb it anymore, thank goodness, but when we put the replacement tree up a couple of years ago she wanted to eat it. So did Fluffy. Maybe I'll have to hunt for a playpen at the thrift store.
