Love the castle fabric for your daughter quilt! The Boy Scouts in our area sell the bag candles. I work Christmas Eve to make sure everything is locked up and just enjoy my ride home seeing them. Nice score on fabric!
All sorts of scouts and school bands and things sell them here. They usually offer the service of set up and take down, which we also offer at a much higher fee. We mainly make the money on the ones that are sold on the spot though.
Maybe there is an orphanage or some children's cente/hospital there locally that would appreciate blankets? Then you would be helping children right in your own area AND wouldn't have to worry about shipping cost. It's something I make time for and is a way to use up my supplies so that I have an excuse to buy more, lol.
This a women's non-auditioned community chorus that I am enjoying ok, but they've got me so busy I might as well have joined sweet adelines, seriously. I did not expect so many rehearsals from a group that doesn't compete.
Nice bolt's you got there. I am pondering the idea of becoming a chapter coordinator for Project Linus. I don't see a location in my area so I thought I should start one. I am opening a quilt and yarn shop hopefully spring 2016. The building is under reconstruction right now so fingers crossed on the spring date. I thought that would be a good drop off spot too.
I don't want to discourage you, but it is a lot of work running a chapter. there is a definite reason I only make blankets and don't serve on the board. Check with the national organization first to make sure they are allowing new chapters in your area, and also ask if they can refer you to a chapter coordinator that would be willing to discuss what all is involved with you, so that you have a good feel for whether it's something you had time for or not. Best case scenario from my point of view would be to be the drop off point and host get togethers and blanket making days at your store. It brings your customers together to form a sense of group and belonging and makes them really feel like the store is a real part of their local community. Like if there is a group that wants to meet weekly or monthly they could maybe meet in your classroom at your store. Worst case scenario, talk to outreach people at your local children's hospital/police department/foster care etc and maybe start a blanket support group just for that. there are

Thanks for the info. I did think I need to know more about it especially opening a new shop I may not have the time to do the chapter. I may just be the drop off and having a place that people could get together to work on them is a good idea.
A lot of businesses put up the fake electric ones on their roofs, but my dad always did the votives in the bags of sand. They really are lovely at night. And we sell different versions, one is a set of different colors of the rainbow, one is just plain paper bags, and one is white with menorhas on them and we call them lumenorahs. ;)
