In which I show off TWO count 'em, TWO finished quilts, and the awesome fun prize I received from Rainey. And if you make it that far without falling asleep, you actually might hear a TINY amount of singing. Because... everything I do relates to me somehow in a song... what can I say I was born this way

Ahhh, Monkey Quilt! I'm so proud of the work you did on it, it totally rocks! The LABEL! ♥ ♥ ♥ Also, it makes me want to Sandbox...
If you're old like me... *snort* OR if you have a background in musical theater. :P
Your sample from the fmq class looks a whole lot like the sample from the class I took. Excellent beginning! In this case, practice really does make perfect. I think the hardest part, at least for me, to get the hang of is how fast to move the quilt so the stitches are mostly the same length.

I'm so glad that quilt is in the mail today. It's been sitting around finished for too long. I think part of me didn't want to let it go because of sandbox memories. ;)
Haha, well Hair isn't performed as often as it used to be, not as many people are familiar with the songs as much as the Disney musicals.
Sadly most of the sample was done at home AFTER class. She really bored me to tears the first couple of hours except for a few things which I had never heard before and was glad to learn about. It was cheap and nearby, and it got me brave enough to finally dive in on a whole quilt. I'm already nearly done with another top for Linus, lol.

I am trying to hurry up and finish another Linus quilt so I can practice more. I think it's just going to take a lot of practice before I'm ready to tackle my Pod.

Wow, I played that song to pieces - haven't thought of it in ages.
Love, love the monkey quilt!

By the way, you can sing any time - lovely voice. As someone who has been involved in community theater for a a couple of decades in various jobs - on stage, off stage, painting the stage, box office, costumes, etc., I appreciate your references to shows. Besides, I was 16 or 17 when Hair opened on Broadway and got the cast recording as soon as it was released.

My degree is actually in theater, with a focus on acting and musicals. I like to say I use my theater degree every day at my job, in that I'm always acting like I know what I'm doing. ;)
