It was very kind of you to finish your niece's quilt on behalf of your mother-in-law. It will undoubtedly be very loved :)

Cute pillow! I love October for so many reasons! We live one block from a hugely popular trick-or-treating neighborhood. People donate money to the residents in that neighborhood to cover the cost of candy because it has become a town tradition to take kids there to trick-or-treat. It's the original high-end residential area as of a century ago. Old victorian style houses, well-kept lawns, quaint porches. The police cordon off the side streets and the area just absolutely FILLS up with ghouls, goblins, critters, you name it! It is so popular to trick-or-treat there that trick-or-treaters literally pass up my neighborhood just to get to that main trick-or-treating neighborhood only a block away!

Happy October!

What a fantastuc quilt andcan amazing memory for your niece. I hate/love thus time of the year, its my favorite seasin but also is the anniversary of my mums passing and her birthday so all a bit bitter sweet. It must have been super hard to work on the quilt but it truely is a forever gift x

Thank you, I do hope so. It's a rough time of year for several people I know for the same reason. *hugs*

That's such a nice quilt for your niece - I can see how it would be an emotional project to work on, but it'll be a real treasure for her to keep the memory close of her grandmother.

The Jack's Lanterns pattern is very cute. Sometimes I think I should make some Halloween-ish things to decorate with, but I never ever do. Maybe next year.

Trying not to get emotional while I type. I know exactly how you feel. My mother in law passed away 4 years ago. She was 62. She loved to wear tshirts and I have most of them. I want to make a tshirt quilt for my husband and one for my brother in law. I haven't decided when would be the right time. I don't think I could get it done by this Christmas so maybe next year. You did a great job on the quilt for your niece. I am sure she will be very happy. Love the Jack o lanterns. Thanks for all you are sharing this month. October is my favorite month. My birthday ;) and Halloween!! I think a card swap would be nice!

It was a hard project, but I'm glad I got it done. Her birthday is tomorrow and they are waiting to open the box (her mom and dad don't know what's inside) until then. I am a bit anxious!!

Memory quilts are wonderful, but yeah, absolutely hard to work on!

<3 Halloween SO MUCH! And yay, another October birthday! Jewells' birthday is next week!
