TTMT #132 - June 30, 2015 - Retreat, Monkeys, and Prizes, Oh My!

Jun 30, 2015 21:34

Probably my longest video to date, sorry about that. I talk (a lot!) about the uber-awesomeness of crafty retreats, show off a quilt top and some PoD blocks, and FINALLY show off the options for the June TTMT Livejournal community prize.

Love the long video. Woo!

Ha, I totally forgot about the mug rugs I made. I'm glad you showed this!

Texas fabric is fat quarters from Quilt Across Texas, the 2011 Texas-wide shop hop. That was the first year. ;)

Can we retreat again now? I'm ready! It really is impossible to understand how freaking awesome it is until the experience is lived. *glomps*

I'm just going to comment on EVERYTHING. *beams*

The monkey quilt looks so great. I can't believe I didn't take a photo of it. Boo, me! :/ I can't wait to see it finished!

Yay prizes! So many lovely options!

Well I'm glad I remembered the mug rugs then! They are adorbs!

Love the Texas Fabric. Will have to find just the right thing to use it in.

I'm in, let's do it! Work has been crazypants eince my first day back, what with the tax rate changing today for the first time in years. Argh. I cut out a long bah humbug about work and how that's why I needed the vacation.

I loves my monkeys. *pets monkeys*

I started going through stuff and then just figured I would throw a bunch of options out there.

I've gotten better about cutting my rambles out, too. Sometimes when I watch myself, I wonder why the heck I'm talking about a thing that has no pertinence to TTMT at all. Real life, stay away, ALL THE CRAFTS instead!

Going on a retreat with no family around...*eyes glaze over thinking about what this would be like*

The monkey quilt's adorable, so colorful and fun!

I'm thinkin' it was me who was the first to offer options for the prize - I can't remember anyone doing it before. Glad it's become a thing, and everyone enjoys that. Very nice choices you have there...it's too bad I haven't made a video in forever and won't have a shot at any of them!

This is your goal. FOcus on the goal. Retreaaaaaaaaat! You need it. Seriously just a sew day with friends, you don't even have to leave town.

Well excellent idea then, you! I think it's fun to give a choice so that the winner hopefully wins something they might use. All prizes are awesome, but it's even more fun to get to pick. :)

Really love your monkey quilt, its a great lay out. Wish i could do a retreat... maybe one day when the kids are older. Might have to try and organise a sewing day instead x

A sewing day would be great, too! Take it where you can find it. If I had someone here to do a sew day with I totally would.

The monkey quilt is really bright and fun!

The prizes are such a good idea!

Glad you ladies had fun. We do sewing days every so often with a group of friends here. It is so much fun and sooo relaxing!

I wish I had friends here to do a sew day with. I think it would be great to just take a day and get a ton of stuff done. The only people I know are at work (none are quilters) or Project Linus (don't really know any of those ladies very well).
