TTMT #110 - jewells68 - January 20, 2015 - Progress!

Jan 20, 2015 06:13

In which I show how productive I was over my 3-day weekend... in particular on my original Project of Doom quilt that I started in 2011. The new quilt-a-long has really prodded me along to finish that UFO while beginning a new version of the quilt for my daughter. Go me!

Aren't you just the little engine that could! Way to go getting them all done! They look good! don't you love that accomplished feeling.

I keep seeing all of these cute doom blocks and it makes me want to make another one...but I'm resisting the temptation so far!

Once I got going it was hard to stop! Especially since the only other things I had to do are housework related, and who wants to do that? ;)

The Egyptian fabrics are fun in the block for your daughter.

You're ticking along pretty good with these blocks, eh? :D

I was determined to find a place for them in a quilt for her, and this seemed to be just the thing... also those big prints mean no room for titles, lol. Always thinking, I am. ;)

I know, right? One more day off in a row and I might have gotten the last 4 done, and jumped back into embroidery. Can't wait for Presidents' Day in a few weeks, another 3 day weekend!

Leaps and bounds for both of your PoD quilts! Rock ON! You are so close on your 2011 PoD!! Also, exclamation points!!!

And? I have the Ravenclaw version of that shirt...

I seriously want to get some of the paint pens that popped up on Facebook last week. Those hand painted titles looked lovely.

Yeah, I'm thinking some good paint pens might be a really good investment toward finishing Phebe's PoD I still plan to hand-embroider at least one title per block for mine since I have one already embroidered. I haven't totally given up on the stenciling, but have decided to finish at least piecing MY PoD blocks before even worrying about messing with that again.

That sounds totally logical to me.

Love the fabrics you chose for the books on your daughter's block as well as the fabric for the quill on yours. It makes it actually look like a quill pen. Good luck with the stencils...hope it will work out.

Thanks! I'm just going to focus on finishing the piecing of the blocks right now, then I'll worry about how to get those darn titles on the spines. ;)
