Your granny ghan is looking good. My mom is an awesome crocheter, but I just can't seem to pick it up (I try to hold the hook like a knitting needle and it just doesn't feel right).
I was a knitter at first, so it was definitely awkward in the beginning, but now I hardly ever knit. Which is also sadmaking as I loved knitted things too, lol.
I totally forgot about the PJ party. Oops! I'll try again next week. :D
Thank you again for the balloon idea, it's not something I would have thought of and I was so glad to get the opportunity to name a block after you! :D
Haha, anytime is a good time for PJs! :D I would have likely had my robe on if I hadn't planned in advance for the Pjs.
Your block is gorgeous, you got the blue perfect and I love the perspective of the balloons different distances away.
I am totally happy with the ghan this time around. I just wasn't feeling it before. I need to dig and see if I have some other bits of color that are enough for at least one round to add some pops in there.
PJ party! I make my videos in a building separate from the house, and the neighbors would probably talk if they saw me walking across the yard to it in my gown and with a camera in my hand, so I might not be able to join in. :)
How cool is that to have a quilt block inspired by and named after you!
The afghan's looking really good. I'm amazed at the need for them, and blankets.
Eighteen is quite the momentous year...happy birthday to your daughter!
I was shocked to learn that just in our school district alone homeless students numbered in the thousands, many of whom don't even have a bed, but are sleeping on the floor. That's why one of the agencies my local group provides blankets to is the school district's Title 1 Homeless project. We also provide quilted tray warmers for the NICUs, isolette covers for the NICUs, in addition to the preemie to teen sized comfort blankets for the various organizations, police department, fire department, etc. It's very rewarding to read the notes and hear the stories from children and families whose lives have been touched by the blankets we make

Happy Birthday to Phebe!!! You have every reason to be proud of your girl, she is AMAZING!!!
Woot for the reworking of the ghan!! I have a couple in progress, but my sewing machine keeps taking over....Maybe Friday will be a crochet all the things kind of day....
PJ PARTY!!!!
*glomps*
The Jewels of the Wind block is truly beautiful. Your brain is gorgeous. Some day I want to see the pretty pretty skies of your state....
I just tried to rattle off things that I associate with Fall but maybe might not be the first thing to come to someone else's mind who lives somewhere else. Some places are all about the harvest, or the leaves, or what have you. Here Fall is all about balloons and chile peppers, which are harvested and roasted at that time.
The ghan is finally happy-making. I think it needs another pop of color... like maybe a burgundy or something, just to spice it up.
Next, Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter! 18 years goes by in the blind of an eye. (Had to rhyme it - just in one of those moods) It will fun to hear what she will be doing next fall. It is an exciting time for your whole family.
Love the afghan you made - lovely.
The Jewels of the Wind block is so nice. It was a great suggestion and a nice pattern.
I am really loving this rectangle ghan. It's a nice change from the other stuff I've been doing over the last couple of months, blanket-wise. And using up scraps is always a plus.
