I love my two-tone lovely pretty thing. :D Sistahs!
It was a pain cutting the 8 million squares, and I can't remember if the version that made it into the video showed the giant stack of squares I cut and then decided not to use, lol. So I have enough for probably 2 more baby quilts.
I love how soft and bendy the fabric is of the autumn glory. Its just a really soft squishy blanket.
Yeah I think the charm quilt is a good size too. I don't really want to make it bigger but that print is so crazy. So if I don't add a stop border I'm going to need to use a solid or a very subtle tone on tone for the binding. Maybe a dark brown.
I swear, I kept checking to make sure the camera was still rolling, and then apparently right after I checked it it went off. Grrr! Oh well. At least I got a blooper out of it.
I think it was in an earlier version of the video. Suffice it to say I have MANY MANY 3.5" squares ready for piecing, lol.
I almost bought a dark brown tonal from the remnant bin (it was a yard remnant) for the binding at Joann's on my break yesterday, but I ended up leaving without buying anything because the line was too long and I needed to get back to work. Packaged batting was 50% off, so I was going to buy that, too, but oh well. Maybe today.
The granny square blocks are really pretty! I've always liked things with a mix of color. Nice afghan..too hot for me to do one of those right now. If I'm not mistaken I got the pattern for the scissor pouch from modadea!
We're supposed to be near 100 for the next week, so I may not be working on the yarn blanket for a while, it all depends on the humidity. The higher it is, the less good our a/c works, so here's to dry arid temps. ;)
I've missed being here! It's so easy to just not make the effort to get a video in, I keep putting it off and off, but I think it will get a little easier now. *glomps back*
Organizing things and doing all that work are good excuses to not do a video for awhile. At least you're getting things done, unlike some unnamed person. *points at self*
Everything looks so great - the granny square blocks (almost like an "I Spy" quilt) are fun, autumn glory is beautiful, and the charm squares from Big Lots turned out to make a really nice quilt top. Nice work!
Thanks so much! I am nearly done with my 4th granny squre block for this quilt. once you get the hang of it they go together really quickly,, which is fun.
Yippee for organizing! I really need to do my craft room, but with the kiddos home full time it is not going to happen. It always makes it so much easier to craft when I can actually find things :)
I REALLY love the granny square blocks. I always see jelly rolls that I like, but never buy them since I'm not sure what to do with them. Now I will have to keep my eye out!
Your charm quilt is a great size and came together nicely! I'm sure it will make a little one very happy :)
I have much more to do, but I was sck of organizing and wanted to make things! So I'll come back to the organizing later.
I will let you know how it goes with the strips, assuming you don't get around to it before I do, lol.
The charm quilt was a fun exercise in random creativity. I'm glad it has worked out so well. Sometimes you just need to experiment and play with your fabrics and see what happens. :D
Autumn Glory is hibernating during a major heat wave. Time to get out some embroidery!

I'm a big fan of dark binding. I probably use it too often, but it's fantastic at stopping everything!
