Welcome to TTMT! So glad you decided to post and join us!
Your crochet blocks are great. I'm glad you were able to find a way to crochet without pain! The lacy looking star (can't remember the technical name) was my favorite :)
Love the sampler. There is just something so pretty about a sampler. Very classic looking.
I'm sorry you are not able to quilt any more. There are quite a few of us on here who do lots of smaller sewing projects so maybe you can find some inspiration.
Thank you for the compliment on my crochet, it is definitely getting better. :)
I don't usually like samplers much, but there was something about the Quaker one's that just spoke to me. It is classic looking, but I chose a brighter color than is normally seen in the antique ones. I love the contrast between the thread and fabric colors, it looks so clean and crisp against the white.
You guys have definitely inspired me a great deal and I appreciate it a lot! :)
Welcome to our little group of crafters! I really like the sugar and cream, Peaches and cream isn't available here. I also really like Lion Brand Cotton-ease, which is a cotton & acrylic 50/50 blend. When I first started knitting I did a lot of dishcloths. I still use them around the house, but I tend to use them more for dusting and cleaning than actual dishes because I like how they work so well for dustin/cleaning around the house

Jewells, thank you for the welcome and the information about Project Linus. I know Ofenjen said it many times in her videos, but for some reason my brain recalled only "Linus Connection" and not "Project Linus" so I couldn't find one. Thank you oh so very much for the link, there is a contact person for Bay County, where I live and the drop off point is the quilt store in town. So, hopefully I will actually finish this afghan (will be my first ever finished crochet afghan project) and drop it off

You are so very welcome! I am glad your area has a PL drop off point for you. The rules are pretty similar for blankets in both groups, 100% washable yarn in acrylic, cotton, or blends... no animal fibers (no sheep's wool or alpaca or anything like that) due to allergy risks. I tend to stick to acrylic or cotton/acrylic blends because of the fun colors and washability factor regardless of whether or not it will be for donation or a gift for a friend's baby.
I am glad there is a drop-off for my local area as well, not that I don't want to help other children, just that local is easier for me to deliver (well most likely my husband will do the dropping off as I can't walk/drive much). I figured I'd continue making the square until it fits my niece's bed, she is still in a toddler bed which uses a crib sized mattress. I figure that should be a good reference size for toddler/young child size. I'm going to have to go get some more yarn though. LOL
welcome to the group. well done you for giving crochet another go and trying something different. i've had a few injuries including some tendon damage in my hands and a partial shoulder dislocation that limits what i can do but i'm working on it. I'm more a knitter than a crocheter, and i miss doing a lot of it, but can still do small amounts of simple things. luckily my tension is rather loose so it's not so hard on my hands. I can't do basting on the floor either, but i do have a large table and do it on that. Much easier that way.
Well welcome again to the group and thanks for sharing with us. i look forward to seeing more posts from you in the future. :)
Thank you for the welcome Cat, I appreciate it! I'm sorry to hear that you have had injuries to your hands and shoulder. I hope they do not cause you a lot of issues as I do understand what it is like to live with chronic pain and the limitations it places on a person. I'm glad you can still knit a little, that is good!
I'm going to give a small wall hanging a try and see how it affects me. I think one of those will lay out on my table fairly well and I'll give that spray basting stuff a try, it sounds like it is easier than pinning or basting stitches.
Thanks again for the welcome. I look forward to posting more. :)

I'm so glad to hear you've been able to pick up crochet again. I learned from a book that showed the knife hold, and it's always worked great for me!
Your cross stitch is absolutely stunning.
So glad you're crafting again and sharing with us. :)
