Lovely, lovely stuff, as I knew it would be. I am always so amazed with how much y'all get done on your retreat. I definitely need to find a group of people to sew with, maybe once a month, for a half-day. I bet I would get loads done. I really love your "just for you" star quilt. It's great to have that one star just pop. Was that a paper-pieced pattern you created for yourself?
The crayons are very fun, that will be a great addition to the linus patterns. I can totally see it with a white background and bright colors for the tumbler blocks and then black for the rectangle "crayon label".
Belive it or not, I didn't paper piece a thing over the weekend, the stars were all traditionally pieced. I did design the quilt, though. Seriously outside my comfort zone!
If you ever get a chance to take a class or sew with some friends, do it. It's totally worth it! Bff sew day...someday!
I absolutely love your "Pop Star" quilt! I like the idea of just one special block standing out so much from the others.
You got so much accomplished at the retreat! I guess once you take all the distractions away it's easy to be so productive...maybe my studio shouldn't be so close to my television, lol.
There's nothing quite like the inspiration of friends to keep a girl going!
I spend so much time designing for other people and making Linus quilts, I forget how much I love to just sew. It was very nice to work on a quilt for me. :)
All quilts look fab! I especially like the 2nd one with all the fun pp blocks!
Your sister's gifts are lovely!
Ack! The selvedge postcard is super cool! Need to try that! What type of material is on the back of the postcard?
Oh how fun are those crayons? Perfect for Linus.
Your popstar quilt is just beautiful! You *should* feel proud of it!!
Ahhh your description of retreat sounds amaaaaazing. I really need to find a place to go to like that! I have a bi-monthly sewing group I attend, and that's fun, but it's only 6 hours (and half of that time is spent chatting!). A weekend of sewing sounds heavenly.
Thank ya! They were fun to make and it's so nice to reduce my piles o' projects just a wee bit!
Yikes! I don't remember the actual name of the interfacing I used in the card, but I can tell you it's thick and inflexible with a double sided iron on. I did a single line of stitching on each piece of selvage to hold it in place and ironed when I was finished.
Retreat is amazing. SO AMAZING. This is not an organized retreat, just a group of friends that go to a lake house once a year. We bring everything and take care of ourselves, but it's just six of us and it is FABULOUS.

Even at home, I don't watch t.v. when I work. I'm an audiobook/podcast girl.

The Pop Star quilt is very pretty! I love the idea of having one star stand out. Can't wait to see it finished.
The crayon block is very fun. Those would make adorable quilts for kids.
