The birthday block sounds fun, but I'm too nervous to try this year. My traditional piecing skills are not great, so I'm not sure I could do all of the blocks justice. Maybe next year. I look forward to seeing how yours turn out.
My traditional piecing skills leave MUCH to be desired, let me tell you. Last year I did quite a bit of whinging about one block in particular. But it forces me to stretch my abilities, even if it means teaching myself how to convert traditional patterns into paper-pieced ones. Also you have the option if a block seems particularly difficult, you can contact the recipient and offer to send a few fat quarters in their color choices instead of the finished block.
What an awesome plug for B_B! I hope you get some more ttmters to sign up! I seriously considered it, but you know, All The Things! I do miss swapping...
Yay for one finished granny ghan and good luck with the ends on the Scrap Eater. You can do it!
My Linus goal is 2 per month. I finished zero in January, oops! I do have two quilt tops finished and one Afghan in progress, so fingers crossed!
I finally decided it's not really THAT big a commitment. Not really... and because SWAP. :D Besides, we haven't even hit 6 swappers this year yet... :(
I was going to make 10 my goal until I brought the rest of those granny squares home. I figured with that kind of head start averaging one a month will be no problem! I will be really happy to hit an average of 1 per month... I am confident I can get 12 done even if half are from the giant sack of granny squares. I'm not sure if I'm going to start another one of those or not. Probably, they are easy and fast and I need to use more up so I can seal the bag up before moth season hits again.
I'm glad you jumped in and I hope you guys get enough to make a quilt. Maybe if there are only six of you, someone can suggest making two blocks per swapper instead of one? That's how my bee does it when we do a pass around. We figure out how many blocks for a quilt and divide it by 5... NOT that we've done a pass around in a while. Sheesh, we should get on that!
When the kids were in elementary, I'd turn in four or five blankets a month for Linus, but I wasn't actively trying to earn money then either. ;)
I need to go back and look at my previous year's blocks and figure out what I'm going to do with them. The first year was the coffee thing and I had some weird ones show up for that. I may turn the weird ones into pot holders. Heck, I may turn ALL of them into pot holders, lol. Then I don't have another UFO sitting around.
Ooo wonder if you met your challenge! I haven't watched this week's video, so I'm in suspense for the moment. :D
The BBS sounds neat - maybe someday I'll participate. I have too many swaps going on right now. Which is odd because I promised myself I wouldn't over-join this year. Ahem.

we're closing the swap intake by the 14th feb, so there is still time for sign ups.
Let me know if you're interested :D If not, perhaps next year? ;)
