I miss swapping, and TTMT swaps are always fun, so I would definitely be interested. I could prob do September if it didn't have to be handmade. I'm not saying NONE of it would be handmade, I just don't know if I have a whole pound of handmade left in me at the moment. I would also prefer to keep it at about 1 pound, myself, whether it's international or domestic. If you get a bunch of people wanting to do more I would just bow out until the next one.
I miss swapping, too! I think with all the summer stress, we need something FUN and EASY and I thought a swap would be a nice pick-me-up.
Remember the Jar/Box of Whimsy swap we did a few years back? That's kind of what got me thinking about it. My idea was thinking 1 pound of craft-related goodies with a minimum of one handmade thing. It wouldn't have to be specially made for the swap, either, just something handcrafted. That would make it easy for anyone to participate, don't you think?
Another thought is that we could do sign ups for 1 lb, 2 lb or 3 lb and then assign partners so that it's all equal. That's the best part of organizing...making the rules!
Can't wait to see the whole quilt :D The Daleks look awesome.
I always like doing swaps, though I prefer something that's not super complicated (I've been doing swaps with small handmade things - pouches, mug rugs, that sort of thing - which I've been enjoying doing) and maybe a little ways off in the future. (September, as you mentioned, might be good!)
So far, everyone that has commented has liked the 1 pound idea. With further thought and a couple of conversations, I'm thinking 1 pound + 1 handmade item. The item doesn't have to be made specifically for the swap or even by you, it just has to be handmade. I'll mention it again next week and we can do sign ups at the end of the month.
