Wow, so much stuff going on I forgot to mention a couple of things and insert pictures for them. :(   Maybe I'll remember next week! Also, the wooden ring I show fell off my cutting table after recording and broke in three places. So sad! I would glue it together but am afraid the structural integrity is damaged forever. So I think I'll just get a ( Read more... )

Eeee, new fabric! I LOVE your choices. LOVE!!

Yay spring hoop! I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

Excellent Goodwill find. The thread...nice!!

If I remember correctly you have a wool needle keeper that's perfect for embroidery needles... ;)

I seriously love scrap bags from quilt stores. The great majority of my stash came from things like that.

So sad the towel ring broke!

Spice racks are awesome for tiny crafty things. I most certainly have one! ;)

I've already got all my 12" squares cut and my 1st pattern transferred with tracing paper. I may try to do it tonight so I'm at least done with the embroidery before the next design comes out. I'm a little worried about the hoop rubbing off the design. I went over it with my sewline pencil afterward hoping that would help ( ... )

I haven't had any problems with my Sew Line rubbing off, so I bet you'll be fine. Yay for having the first design transferred and blocks cut! The second week's post is written and ready for tomorrow. ;)

Oooh, painted spice rack...that could be even more wonderful! Gotta love thrifting!

Ok, so embroidery is NOT my forte. Woof. But after pulling the thread out and stated over a few times it's looking better. Diong all backstitch at this point.

That coffee fabric is cute :D

Those three fabrics look great for with the sea prints - I love that blue up at the front.

LOVE the bottles on that spice rack. Like you said - very potion vialish :D

The owner of the quilt store dug around until she found those really awesome prints to bring out the other colors in the sea animal blocks.Very excited about how that is coming together!

The coffee fabric is very cute. It's sadly the only one in the bag, but there's a cute owl scrap in the same colors, maybe I can put them in the same scrappy quilt.

I was getting ready to leave when I came across the spice rack, such a good thrift store haul Sunday!

Okay, potion bottle rack = one of the greatest thrift store finds ever. Love it!!!

Your fabrics for the SaL are perfect! This is a late comment, so I've already seen your #1 on Flickr. He looks wonderful in the crochet thread. I'm glad you found a solution that you could work with and get such great results. Has your sister started stitching yet?

Oh - and yay, cosplay! I'm excited to see how you'll make this one!

I don't think she's gotten started yet. She's been having rehearsals every evening for a musical program at her church, but that was this past Friday night so I think she's probably in recovery mode now. I was going to get in touch with her tomorrow and see if she needed help cutting her squares for the embroidery.

Oh, and I managed to get the thread into a smaller needle, I bit the end of it flat, lol. Whatever works, right?
