So many of those "just need to be quilted and bound". That is the hardest part of the whole thing for me and would be why they were still sitting there unfinished... probably forever! Piecing them, sure! Piecing the blocks together... no prob! And then they sit... and sit... ;)

So glad you are feeling better! I think I told you that when you showed it to me in person, but that block top-cnter on the wall-It's so charlie brown... lol. That's always what I think when I see it.

Ah retreat. Maybe next year I'll stow away in your luggage. ;)

My main problem with the quilt top UFOs are that I don't buy yardage unless I need it. I need to try to get backing for one a month so it doesn't break the bank to finish all those quilts! I actually love the quilting part, I've just procrastinating on the getting the backing!

Heh, that block does look very Charlie Brown!

As for retreat...you'd be amazed what I can fit in an IKEA bag! ;)

I've yet to decide what pattern to do for my Aussie quilt, but I have plenty of fabric for a top (maybe two!). The stash is coming with me to next bee so I can seek expert opinions!

I think that green charm swap must have been 2011 - I haven't done anything with my squares, since my first creative burst of cutting in strips of pink and red. One of these days...

Like you, I tend not to buy yardage until I need it either. But I kind of hate the quilting part (which I see above that you love). I really do hope to get my currently finished tops quilted this year, though. I don't have SO many of them, so it feels like a do-able goal.

2011 seems right for that swap. I was just talking away and then realized I made that top at retreat last year or the year before so 2012 couldn't be right!

I LOVE the quilting part, I just tend to procrastinate because basting is an ordeal for me. The only place I have that's big enough is my living room floor, which of course has to be really clean first. Seriously, I think the large ones are going out for professional quilting, it may be the only way they ever get done.

I find basting really brutal too. I learned a way to baste on a table top though, (here), which was so so so much easier AND left me with no puckers on the back, which I've gotten every single time I basted on the floor. (I used it for the wonky star quilt that I haven't finished yet...) It did mean shifting things around a lot (my table isn't very big) but it seems to have turned out really well.

Wow! Rapid-fire quilting wonderfulness! I hope you can get everything done that you want to this year. So many pretty projects! I am really looking forward to seeing how your quilts progress this year.

The green sideways shell came out beautifully. The greens work together perfectly. :)

Me, too! It's a metric ton of quilting, but my machine is fresh out of a visit to the sewing machine spa and is stitching like a dream, so now backings and basting and I'm on my way!

And thank you for the compliment on the afghan. It's good to have that one done, I feel like I worked on it forever!
