I made this video at around 1 am so was pretty tired. I can't seem to get motivated to finish Tinkerbell, even though I am so close to getting it completed. Perhaps this is because it isn't turning out like I had pictured. Anyways, after creating this video, I have since started another project, which I will show next week, at least this is one ( Read more... )

Why don't you use those clips you put in your hair to hold your fabric. I can't think of the name of them right off. They are sort of like a chip clip. Worth a try. I started a project like your Tinkerbell & it is not turning out like I thought so I am not motivated to finish it. I want to start about 3 other projects. But I won't right now. Did you ever start your & your husband's profile (I think it was from your wedding)? You were wondering what color to do it on? Good luck on your large selection.

I was thinking of perhaps using a binder clip. I think it would be easier if the fabric was evenweave instead of Aida as it wouldn't be so stiff. I have yet to start that project, but am thinking of perhaps not using 14 ct as it would be too big.

What about rolling the excess fabric around a hollow tube like from inside a paper towel roll, and then you could maybe use the same clips you are using, or binder clips, at each end of the tube to hold it to the tube...

I was able to fold it a little better, and it seems to look easier to use now. Although I haven't tried it yet, as I had been waiting for the arrival of more thread.

Clothespins might work too. Hope you get it to behave!

Sorry you got demotivated about Tinkerbell...she looks good from here! Hope you can get the mojo back to finish up that project...maybe it'll turn out better than you expect. :)

And, oooooh, I love fractals. I can NOT imagine cross-stitching a fractal pattern though, a bit beyond my capabilities. That is going to be fun to watch!

If I have a big piece, I always roll the edges and secure with pins. Can't leave them in too long though, or they leave holes. I like jewells68's idea though, about the paper towel tubes...

I haven't yet to be motivated again about Tinkerbell, it will need to have it completed before May 9th. I can't wait to stitch more on the fractals.

Sometimes projects just happen when they want to! The fractal flowers pattern looks amazing...no wonder you want to work on it!

I hope you find the mojo you need to finish Tinkerbell. You'll feel so much better when she's done.

I will need to push myself and have it completed no later than May 9th. Hope to work more on the fractal pattern later this week.

I often find it hard getting the last little bits of a project finished. Once I get close enough to see the end, I somehow slow down to a dead crawl. It sucks that you're not finding it looks how you hoped, though.

The new project seems really unique and interesting. Can't wait to see the on-going progress!

All that matters in the end, I guess is that Tinkerbell is completed by May 9th. I think my niece will like it no matter what. I am anxious to start more progress on the new project.
