I love that tote! I'm going to have to get that book just for that pattern XD
I'm a big fan of the halo games and the costume is looking really great! I never would have thought to use sparing gear for it.
Next time there's a swap I'll have to participate. I couldn't find the info this time, but hopefully next time I'll be able to. I don't want to miss out on the fun!
The only thing I can suggest for the bangs is to wear lots of barrettes and bobby pins haha I'm so afraid to get bangs because I'm afraid I'll hate them, so at least you were brave enough to try them out!
That's the irony, The Big Guy, my kids, friends and coworkers...everyone keeps telling me how much they like the bangs...they're just driving me to distraction!
That basket is awesome ! And holy cow that's alot of pieces but the costume is is coming out great!! Head bands are going to be your bff's :) I am the strange one I want bangs but I can't have them. My hair is to curly so they would just look funny.
I can definitely do cloth or yarn head bands, but I tried a plastic one and it did not get along well with my glasses! Clips on the other hand...awesome! My hair is as you see it...straight as a stick!
The baskets and bowls are totally addicting and SO FUN to make.
The costume is coming along. It's about 98% done...just a little more glue and it's done!
A great TTMT. Have fun teaching the Thursday class :o) I love that tote you made for jewells. It's so pretty. I am going to try to make 10 more HP pin cushions so you have one for each month. I don't want to promise anything because lately it seems like even little committments are difficult to follow through on. But I've got a while to get them done, so that's good. Regarding your bangs, I've noticed in movies lately that hairstylists are positioning bobby pins in a concealed way that holds the hair in specific positions. That and some hairspray would probably work until they're long enough to go behind your ears. That costume is out of this world. You get the "Costume Crafting Mom of the Year Award!"
The class is done and despite some technical difficulties with sewing machines, it was a lot of fun!
Please don't feel any pressure about the pin cushions. If you can make them, that's wonderful, and if not, I don't want you to fret about them. I know how busy busy can be!
Hairspray will work during this time of the year, but it's usually so humid here that it just gets really sticky. I'll deal with them until they grow out, I just thought it would amuse you all to know that I've already given up on them!
I take Halloween costuming very seriously. I know I won't get to do it forever and I usually go all out. His costume is about two pieces of velcro away from being done, which feels SO good!
