Buffy looked up at the tower as she got out of the cab she’d taken from the airport. You’ve got to be kidding me? This is the secret headquarters of the secret organization called S.H.E.I.L.D.? She thought. Right off Times Square with a giant office tower? Oh well.
She went in and was stopped by the security at the desk. She presented her passport and Watcher’s Council International identification and was checked off by the security guard.
“Director Fury is waiting for you. Twentieth floor,” The guard told her as he handed the documents back to Buffy.
She walked to the elevators and pressed the button for the twentieth floor. It zoomed up. Whoever designed the tower didn’t like slow elevators so quicker than she thought possible the doors opened. She walked to the receptionist.
“Ms. Summers?” the receptionist asked.
“Yes,” Buffy answered.
“He’s ready for you. Last door on the right,” the receptionist gesutured.
Buffy went to the door directed and it was open. There waiting for her was the scariest human she’d ever seen.
“Buffy Summers?” Director Fury asked.
“Yes,” Buffy said as she watched him come around the desk.
“It’s an honor to meet you,” Fury smiled.
