So these... strangers that appear on our communication things... they have nothing better to do than mock those who had been afflicted by the strange illness that befell many of the city? A prediction of the weather is welcome, handy yes, but I think many would agree they could be productive in other ways besides mockery.

A horse?

Where would you keep it? Is there even feed for it here?

If worse comes to worse, at least it could be used for food.

Yeah, they're bastards like that. And occasionally they do give the city presents like these maybe twice a year. [He sounds somewhat bitter, implying that he's been here long enough to experience several of these occasions.]

I dunno who they are exactly though. I think they're in league with the scientists? I'm not sure, but they're related somehow.

I suppose the gifts work for those easily swayed by such things. While they do bring a sense of familiarity to this city, I would still rather not be here. [Poor Desmond, so bitter.]

So there is no way to find out for sure? Has anyone ever spoken to them? They appear on our devices, so surely they can hear us, respond to us?

I don't think most of us wanna be here. To be fair though? A place with fewer knights is a place that I can't hate completely.

Dunno. They've stayed in secrecy and people have looked. I think some people found the studio at some point--that's the place where they record their weekly updates--but...

I never implied it. [Okay even he has to agree with that.] I will still dislike it, but at least so far I have no need to fear Templars.

... and no one has gone back? Do these people do these 'updates' the same time every week? If so, why not go there when they are known to be there?

Does it really...make up for everything that happened?

tsundere_dai March 10 2011, 10:22:05 UTC
No.

I would never imply that. No matter what they give, it cannot make up for anything that happens here, nor can it make up for taking us from our homes. While a piece of home is a comfort, I would rather not be here in the first place.

A double edged blade I suppose.

They have sent us gifts before. They may be useful, but they fail to endear me to them.

As for the newscasters....they're a bunch of idiots. [Seem tells it like it is, yo.]

It seems that we are of the same mind then.

Agreed.

At least some of us aren't so easily fooled by them. [You are her new bro? Bros in tsun sense?]

I have no doubt there are others among the many here, but some people here seem so ready to let these gifts appease them.

We should be thankful, but not let it disillusion us to the reason we are here in the first place.
